1940, German forces entered Paris

This is for all you fans of Casablanca, or maybe Bogart or Bergman.

Remember how, in the flashback to where Ilsa and Rick begin their affair in Paris, there is a scene where they hear “thunder”, and Ilsa says: “Is that thunder or my heart beating?”  Rick answers that it’s German artillery.

So that scene is around this date.  Now the fans know.
